Perisher Snow Accommodation and InformationLocation Perisher is the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere.
Driving By road, Perisher is a 2½ hours drive from Canberra and a comfortable 6 hours drive from Sydney and from Melbourne 7 hours. All 2WD vehicles are legally required to carry snow chains when driving to Perisher, Smiggin Holes and Guthega.
Coach Transfers using Snowscene Express are available from Canberra on Sundays and Fridays.
Fly Most airlines service Canberra Airport. Cooma Airport, which is one hour outside Perisher, is serviced by Regional Express Airline.
Resort Parking There is no overnight parking at Perisher, apart from a few properties that do have limited spaces. Parking at Bullocks Flat and using the Skitube is recommended. The Skitube is situated outside the National Park and parking is FREE, but you will need to purchase a Skitube Pass. FREE dayparking is available at Perisher.
The Skitube The Skitube is an electric railway system with tunnel access to Perisher through the Ramshead Range and it then continues on to Blue Cow Mountain.
Resort Entry Fee When you arrive at Jindabyne you can pay your Resort Entry fees at the National Parks Centre or as you drive through the Park Gates.
Village Transport A free shuttle service operates between Perisher and Smiggin Holes from 7.30am to 6pm and to 9pm on Tues and Sat nights. Hans Oversnow offers transportation to all properties in Perisher and Smiggins.
Other Services A medical centre, supermarket, post office, bars and many more services are located throughout the village.
